Memorial Day Weekend Recap

Here's a recap of our Memorial Day Weekend:



Saturday:



* Stephen went to work

*I did some chores around the house then went shopping, but didn't buy anything.

* Stephen called to tell me he was going to play poker that night so I called my Mom to see what she was doing since Dad was out of town.

* Mom and I met at La Madeline for dinner and then went to paint at Mad Potter.

* I painted an ice cream bowl and she painted a small chip and dip platter.

* On the way home I stopped by Jeremy and Shelana's house where Stephen was playing poker since they only live about 5 minutes from us. It was fun to see everyone and hang out there for a while.

* Stephen ended up getting third in poker- he always gets so close!

* We came home and crashed- it was late!



Sunday:



*I slept in until 1:00 pm!! WHAT? How did that happen? Stephen got up at 10:30 and said I looked so peaceful so he didn't wake me up.

* We got ready and left the house to go to his Dad's to swim for the afternoon.

* We stopped and ate at Fudrucker's in Pearland.

* Stephen then got a haircut while I browsed Target.

* A bad rainstorm was headed our way so we drove around for a while and then checked out the Pearland Town Center. It is so nice!! There are so many nice stores tucked back there you can't see from the highway.

* We went to Sunglass Hut so Stephen could get his nosepiece replaced on his Oakley's and had fun trying on sunglasses. We both wanted to new pair, but resisted.

* We stopped by Star Furntiture since it was still raining. We didn't see anything we liked and it was still so expensive even though they were having a "sale".

* By now the sun was starting to come out so we headed over to his Dad's house.

* The pool was FREEZING so we decided to skip swimming and played ping pong for a while instead.

*We headed back home and the weather was perfect at this point, not hot, not cold, sunshine with a few clouds. Why couldn't it have been like this all day?

* We took a long walk around the neighborhood and stopped into a few houses that are being built.

* Came home and Stephen grilled hamburgers while I had a glass of wine. We sat on the patio until it was dark and the bugs were eating us up!

* It was such a fun day just hanging out together!



Monday:



*Stephen had to work :(

* I got up and started some laundry and cleaned the kitchen.

* I ran to the store and got stuff for lunch.

* Came home and made lunch and watched t.v. while I ate.

* Went and cleaned the garage and then started working on the desk. It was so pretty outside!

* I sanded and painted one coat of primer on the desk. I can't wait until it's done!

*Since I decided to work in the garage for 4 hours during the hottest part of the day, I was sweaty and nasty by this point.

* I came in and took a shower and rested for a while.

* Then I finished up the laundry and went and read on the patio, the weather was so wonderful.

* Stephen got off early so we met at Nifas for dinner.

* We came home and I painted another coat of primer of the desk and Stephen sat outside with me to keep me company.

Relaxing weekend

We have had such a nice relaxing weekend! It was the first of many that we haven't had one thing planned, and it was wonderful! Friday night, we met Daniel and April for dinner at Cheddar's. Then Saturday, I did some chores around the house and ran some errands. When Stephen got home, we went to Chili's for dinner and then over to his dad's house for some hot tubbing! We wanted to swim, but a cold front came through during the day and it was a little too cold to swim, so we just hung out in the hot tub for a while! It was so nice and relaxing! Sunday, we slept in and then went out and did the yard. Stephen mowed while I edged. It started raining as we were finishing up so we didn't have time to weed eat or weed the flower beds. I'll have to finish that up this week. We came in and ate lunch and got ready for the Rockets game 7 against the Lakers. Unfortunantly, they lost! But they did great getting this far especially without Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming. I am about to go to the grocery store and we may go for a walk this evening. After the rain, it turned into a gorgeous day!

Stephen's 27th Birthday!

April 28th, Stephen turned 27! I have been so busy so I haven't been blogging lately, but I wanted to document Stephen's birthday! His birthday fell on a Tuesday night this year. His dad and Nancy took him to lunch at Houston's and then for dinner we met his mom, Jim, Marci, Daniel, April and Landon at Los Cucos! It was a great dinner and then they came to sing happy birthday to Stephen and tried to get whipped cream in his face.

They won!!



The unsuspecting guy on the right got him, while he was fighting off the guy on the left! Even though it was a pretty low key birthday, I think it was a good one for him!
