Christmas Day

Stephen and I spent Christmas morning at home just the two of us. Well, actually four of us with Sadie and Baby P!! I didn't take any pictures. We had a great morning together! I spoiled Stephen this year and got him an iPad and Xbox 360 Kinect. He was so happy and shocked!! He didn't think I had bought him either of those things. He got me a new charm bracelet, a sweet mother/ child charm, some lotion and perfume, and gift certificates for pre natal massages! I am so excited about the massages. He did very good this year!

We then headed over to Steve and Nancy's to celebrate! When we first got there, we helped cook some and then everyone started showing up so we went and did presents.

Robbie loved the ribbon!

Christmas Eve

Stephen and I were both off Christmas Eve this year! What a blessing! We got up early and Stephen went to the Honey Baked Ham store to get our ham for dinner with my family on Sunday. Luckily they opened early and he didn't have to wait long. Once he got home we headed over to Clear Lake to meet Nancy, Shelley, Taylor, and Brook at the movies. We saw Little Fockers. It was funny and cute! After the movie, we went over to Shelleys and hung out for a while and then went to Steve and Nancy's to pick them up for church.

It got cold as we were going to church! Like really cold!!! We went to service at Gateway and Mary, Gary and Michael met us there. I always love the candlelight service!

After church we all headed to dinner at Pappasitos and had a great time together!

I am so mad because I put my lens on in a hurry since it was raining and must have hit the autofocus button, so my lens was on manual focus all night. So these are blurrier than they should be, but they still turned out ok.

December family night

I am a little late posting this! We got together the first Sunday of December at Mom and Dad's house for family night. The boys watched the Cowboys game while Mom and I made gingerbread cookies. We had hamburgers and then we all decorated cookies. I forgot to take pictures all night until right before we left so I only have these two.

It was a lot of fun, but man making those cookies were a lot of work!! They were so yummy though!

How we told our parents...

I wanted to document how we told our parents we were expecting, not because I will ever forget, but because I love to look back at the things I have documented.

We found out Thursday night right at 7pm that I was pregnant. The Texans game was just starting (Stephen never did watch that game- I think it will be the only time that ever happens!!). After the shock wore off we started talking about telling our parents. Stephen said he wouldn't be able to keep from telling his dad at work the next day, so we thought we should go over and tell them. But they were at a Christmas party. I really wanted to drive out to my parents, but we decided it was just to far for a work night. So we went over to his mom and Jim's house.

Annette's birthday was the next day, so we told her we were bringing her an early gift. We really did have a gift, so when we went in she opened it and we talked for a while. She had met with a builder for the lake house that day and was telling us all about it. Stephen finally says, well I hope you told him you need a nursery. To which his mom looks at me and says "Are you pregnant?". She was super excited! In typical Jim fashion he looks up from his chair and says, "Welcome to hell". We later found out he was sick and really didn't feel well. He later told us he was actually really excited for us.

We then made to trek over to Clear Lake hoping his dad and Nancy were home by then. They weren't. So we waited down the street. And we waited. And waited. We finally decided to leave. As we were driving down Clear Lake City Bldv we thought we saw them so we turned around. It wasn't them. But when we were leaving again we really did see them!! So we quickly turned around to go back to their house. We were behind them and coming up to a red light. Stephen said to me "I'm going to pull up next to them at the light and tell them." So we pulled up next to them and they were shocked to see us. We all rolled our windows down and Stephen says "We are coming to tell you that Lisa is pregnant". They were shocked!! We drove to their house and got out of our cars and hugged! They were so happy!

Friday night I had my company Christmas party and then we went out to my parents house. I called and told them we had been out to dinner with friends and were out by their house so we were going to stop by and say hi. We had gotten our Christmas cards in that day and at the bottom they said Love, Stephen and Lisa. I added "and baby on the way" to the bottom. When we walked in, my parents were sitting in their chairs and my mom was signing their Christmas cards, so I said, oh well we brought our cards to show you. I handed them each a card and it took a while for them to see the bottom. My mom was asking me about the pictures, how I made them, etc. And then finally my dad reads outloud "and baby on the way". He jumped up and hugged me! It was such a fun way to tell them. They are so excited for their first grandchild!!

No matter how they reacted I know all of our parents are incredibly excited as are we!!

Christmas came early!

Christmas came early this year for Stephen and I. On Thursday, December 2, we got the best present we could ever receive:

Photobucket

That's right, I'm pregnant!!!

Since the line of this test was so faint, we went up to Walgreens and bought two more and came home and took them. And yes I am indeed pregnant.

We are so excited and happy! This was an unexpected gift, so at first we were both in shock, but now that it has sunk in that we are having a baby, we could not be happier! This is truly the best gift we could have ever received.
