Hannah and Bert

Renee asked me to take some pictures of Hannah and Bert for Fathers Day, so we met up one Saturday night to take some. I think they came out really well!

I love this one of Hannah, except there is a pesky little hair across one eye that I didn't see when shooting! Darn it!

Everyone loves this one!

When we were done, we hung out for a while and Renee snapped these of me with Hannah and Bert. No make-up, sweaty, hair in ponytail, but I still love them!

Nothing but blue skies

When I left work today it was pouring. The sky was black and many places on the feeder road were flooded. Traffic was horrible!

As I was almost home, the rain stopped and the sky opened up. I couldn't quite tell if the storm was following me or going away from me.

When I got onto highway 6, this is what I saw.

To the right was black and to the left was blue! I came from the right and our house is to the left.

I stopped by the grocery store and when I came out it was nothing but blue skies plus it was nice and cool.

Fathers Day

We had a great Fathers Day with our Dad's this year! We are very lucky to have such wonderful fathers in our lives.

I appreciate my Dad so much more each year! As I grow up, I understand all the sacrifices he made for our family and how hard to worked to give us everything he did. Not just monetary things either, my Dad was a very present, hands on Dad and was always there for us! And he still is! We love you Dad!

We started Fathers Day out by meeting my parents at Grand Lux Cafe for brunch. Aaron went to Galveston with Jessica, so we missed them, but glad we got to spend time with my parents!

We started with beinets, which were so good!

Everyone had eggs benedict and I got waffles.

We said goodbye to my parents and went to see Jim. He and Annette had been working out in the yard, so we just stopped by and talked for a while. I didn't take any pictures there since they had been working in the yard!

We then made our way to Clear Lake to see Steve. We hung out a little and then ordered pizza and the kids swam.

Daniels Birthday

We celebrated Daniels birthday last night. April planned a surprise dinner for him at one of their favorite restaurants. A bunch of family and friends were there. We couldn't make it for the "surprise" part, but we did get to have dinner with them.

They tried to get him with whipped cream.

And when he thought they were gone, they got him.

We then headed over to Tony's Tavern, our old hangout, and started the night out with a birthday shot!

And after a few drinks and a couple shots, karaoke began.

This is what happens when Stephen takes over the camera.

Look at April posing in the background- ha!

Ok, now it's your turn.

Daniel Smithwick joined us when he got off work and more karaoke was sung.

June Family Night

Aaron and Jessica hosted family night this month. It was really family "day", but I can't help from calling it family "night". Whatever you want to call it, this family time was great as usual!

We were excited to see Aaron's house. He got a new kitchen table and chairs, a coffee table and end table, painted his bedroom and master bathroom, and Mom helped him with some decorating touches. It is coming along nicely!

Aaron and Jessica made pork chops, corn, green beans and rice. It was all great, but I have to say the grilled corn was amazing!! I'm not usually a huge fan of corn on the cob, but this was wonderful.

Mom and Dad had brought some games over, so we played Finish Lines. We had never played it before and didn't think we would enjoy it, but decided to try it to give us something new to play. We ended up loving it- well Dad and Aaron didn't really love it, but that is because they kept rolling bad. I think it is a game we will play again!

See the wood tiles on the left of the board. Yea, that is Jessica and I's score- we WON!!! Woo- hoo! I was skeptical at how we would do because I really am bad at remembering lines. But we did surprisingly well!

After that we went outside and played washers. Aaron bought a board that is washers and bean bags. So we tried washers since we had never played that before.

It's HARD!!! Aaron and Stephen were the champions of washers.

REVISION: It has been brought to my attention that Aaron and Stephen we not the champions of washers. The first game was technically a wash because they didn't win by two points, then the second game Aaron and Stephen beat Jessica and I, and the third round was won by Mom and Dad. So it was technically a tie!!

Thanks again for having us Aaron and Jessica! Everything was wonderful! We are looking forward to July!
