My 28th Birthday

I am so far behind. I have just not been in a blogging mood lately! It has been almost three weeks since my birthday, but better late than never right!

Disclaimer: These pictures are a hot mess! I was totally living in the moment and did not care about ISO, aperture, shutter speed or white balance. And they were really beyond editing into making them look fantastic. So they are what they are. Lesson learned, next time I just want to live in the moment, bring the point and shoot. It's really ok!

So, here we go, my 28th birthday!

The Saturday before my birthday, Stephen surprised me with a little get together with our friends. We met Pablo, April, Daniel, Amber and Jeremy at Bakers Street in Katy. I 'thought' Stephen was taking me to dinner, but he surpirsed me with this instead. We had a ton of fun; however, no dinner plus drinks and birthday shots may have not been the best idea!

You had to put these words on the board to describe the word and everyone guessed. You a point if you guessed the word and a point if everyone guessed the word you were trying to describe.

I had a great night with my family! Thank you all for making it special!

Tuesday was my actual birthday, so Stephen took me to dinner. We went to Josephines downtown and had amazing chicken alfredo lasagna! I was really looking forward to dessert, but we were both sooooooo full after dinner that we had to pass!

July 4th

We had a wonderful day celebrating America's birthday. We invited a bunch of people over and has such a fun afternoon/ night. Aaron, Pablo, April, Daniel, Clarissa, David, Heather and Russell all came over late in the afternoon. All week we had horrible rain, it took me 2 hours to get home Friday because much of the city was flooded. We were hoping for a nice day Sunday and we got it! The weather, while a little hot, was so very nice. It could have been much hotter and was not as humid as I thought it would be considering all the rain we got.

April and Daniel got a dog, Ty. He is so little!! I forgot what breed he is, but he is only 5 pounds and at full size will be 10!! He is so cute and sweet.

Aaron brought Rocky over and the three dogs had so much fun playing! I know Sadie loved having friends over!

They all played really well together and although it looks like Sadie is eating Ty here, she was actually very gentile with him.

Ty would go over to Sadie and jump at her neck. It was so cute!

We grilled hamburgers and hung in the backyard for a while.

Some darts were played.

This picture cracks me up! Sadie is the sweetest, nicest dog, but she looks like a crazy wild animal ready to attack here! Rocky looks scared- ha!

Then it was time for the fireworks show! They started out with two tubes.

And then went to three.

Our neighbors on the main street were getting in trouble for their fireworks, so they brought them down to our cul-d-sac to finish them. They had a bunch of really big ones.

Daniel brought his tripod and got some great fireworks pictures! These are all his pictures.

After fireworks, we hung out a little more. We played darts and catch phrase. Aaron and Pablo and April and Daniel decided to spend the night to avoid driving home. It was almost 3 am, but we decided to play Rock Band since Aaron had never played. It was a quick game and then we all headed to bed!

We had such a great day celebrating our freedom! We are so lucky and blessed to live in this country! God Bless America!
