August Family Night

Last Sunday, Stephen and I hosted family night at our house. Mom and Dad came over and we had a great night with them. Aaron had to work really late and he had been exhausted from a long week, so he and Jessica did not get to come.

I made wedge salads and we ordered pizza from Russo's. It was wonderful!!

Then we played Phase 10. We only got to Phase 7, I think, before we had to stop because it was getting late. Mom won!

Day off and night with family

Stephen and I took the day off Wednesday to just hang out together. Well actually, Stephen was already off. It was his first off day in about 6 weeks. And since I have so many vacation days I took one off so we could spend the day together. We didn't do anything too eventful and it was perfect! We slept in, went to Chik-Fil-A for lunch, took a nap, took Sadie to the vet, and then went over to his Mom and Jim's to see his grandma.

His grandma had been in town all week and she was making jumbalaya for everyone tonight so we all went over to see her.

When we got there Robbie was asleep in the living room. I couldn't resist getting a picture of him. He is so precious!

We also got to see Jim's new camaro. He had one just like this is high school except it was blue.

It is a '67 Camaro and a light yellow color with black interior. I had some fun taking these pictures of it.

We are so glad we got to see his grandma and spend time with the family. I spent a lot of time talking to his grandma tonight. She told me stories of when she was growing up, she lived on a farm and her father was a blacksmith. They had all kinds of crops and always had fresh produce. They also had a smoke house where they smoked all kinds of meat.

A day off in the Woodlands

I have a few days off left for the year, so I am going to a few long weekends. I took this past Friday off and went out to the Woodlands.

I met Mom and Roslyn for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and it was wonderful as always. But the company was even better! I had a great time with my Mom and Roslyn at lunch and we sat there for almost two hours.

Photobucket

I can't believe I didn't take a picture of us at lunch- ugh!

Mom and Roslyn had a meeting to go to so I went shopping on my own.

Photobucket

Anthropologie has the best displays. Sometimes they are a little off the wall, like this one, but I still love them!

Photobucket

Then I went over to market square and got a great parking spot right in front of Sur La Table. I could seriously buy this whole store! I love kitchen gadgets and this store has the best stuff!

Photobucket

My favorite store at market square is Maggies. They have the best candles!

Photobucket

I had to get a little creative with the pictures so this is my take on a self portrait. I wanted to take one in the store, but the women in there are a little crazy. The "greeter" barely broke a smile. So I didn't even dare take a picture, or ask to.

Photobucket

I finished shopping and stopped by Starbucks to get my favorite summer drink, Iced Shaken Passion tea, no sweetener. It was heavenly on this hot day!

Photobucket

I had such a relaxing day off and although I shopped all day, I did not buy one thing!

A day with the Jeep

Last Sunday we took the Jeep Steve bought for the ranch to go eat lunch and run some errands.

We went to lunch at Willies and we were so hot after riding in the Jeep. It was over 100 degrees and the sun was beating down! But we had a nice lunch and then went to run errands.

We stopped at Petsmart first and got Sadie more food and treats. When we got back into the Jeep it would not start. It wouldn't do anything.... at all. We were stuck with no AC, a super hot day and no transportation. So Stephen called Chris to come tow us to the dealership. We had about an hour before he would be there so we walked over to Panera and got a drink and sat for a while to recover from the heat. We then walked over to Bed Bath and Beyond and killed some time there. Chris finally rescued us and we towed the Jeep to the dealership. We got our car and finished our errands. It only took us six and a half hours to eat lunch, go to Petsmart, the grocery store and a get Stephen a haircut!

The Jeep was fun while it lasted!
