Fun, relaxing, ...weekend

I am loving Stephen's new work schedule!! Even though he had to work Saturday he got off at 5:00! It was great!

Friday was our anniversary so Stephen came and picked me up and we had the most wonderful dinner at Pappas Steakhouse! We had salad, steak, au gratin potatoes, creme brulee and it was all amazing! It was a long dinner, which was fine with us, we talked and had the best conversation. We talked about some random stuff, about the past 5 years, about the baby, etc. It was just a wonderful evening!

Saturday, Stephen went to work and I got up and ran some clothes to the dry cleaners, cleaned the house, got dressed, ate lunch, and then my parents came over to bring us the dresser Clark painted. They stayed for an hour or so and we had fun talking. When Stephen got off work, he came and picked me up and we went to Pappasitos for dinner. Then we went to Bed Bath and Beyond and the Galleria. I love just doing simple things like shopping and running errands together! Stephen got some new sunglasses and I got some jeans. We came home and started watching a movie, but both fell asleep shortly after it started.

Sunday we woke up and went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then stopped by Dillards to buy Stephen another dress shirt. We came back home and did a few things around the house and just relaxed for a while. We got the stroller put together. I love it so much! I can't wait to have a baby to put in it! Mary came over to get some tickets to the rodeo and we had fun talking to her for a while. Then we watched the Academy Awards and crashed!

The weather this weekend was beautiful which made the whole weekend even better! I am looking forward to many more, relaxing, yet productive weekends with Stephen! I can not wait until the baby is here, but am enjoying the last few months just the two of us doing whatever we want.

5 Years

Today is our 5 year anniversary! It's so hard to believe it's already been 5 years and yet in a lot of ways it does seem like it's been 5 years. Some years have been harder than others, but we have had more good days than bad and where we are right now is a great place to be. I love Stephen more each day and am so excited about what this year brings us.

I never dreamed about my wedding as a little girl or teenager. But I did dream about this life. A loving husband who is my best friend, goof jobs, a house, a dog, and a baby on the way. All my dreams have come true and it's even better than I could have ever imagined!! I have one amazing life for which I am so grateful for and grateful that I get to spend it with the love of my life!

Happy 5 year anniversary! There are no words to express how happy I am today! We have come so far from those 16 year old kids who fell in love! I love where we are today! I can't wait to see what is in store for the rest of our lives. I know whatever comes our way, we will be right next to each other pushing through, laughing or crying!

17 Weeks

I am 17 weeks along!!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 17 Weeks
Size of baby: The size of a turnip
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Lost 10 pounds
Maternity Clothes: I desperately needed some new clothes so I went shopping this week and bought super cute shirts and two dresses.
Gender: Don't know, we will find out March 15th!!!
Movement: None yet, I hope I start feeling some movement soon.
Sleep: I've been sleeping good.
What I miss: Nothing really this week.
Cravings: I've been hooked on lemonade this week.
Symptoms: Really, really gaggy. Brushing my teeth is awful!!
Best Moment this week: Buying our stroller this weekend

A new chapter

Well today starts the beginning of a new chapter in our life. Yesterday was Stephens last day at Freeway Ford. Steve sold the dealership to Group 1 and Monday they will take over. It is very bittersweet. Steve and Stephen's relationship has grow so much by working together. It hasn't always been easy and there have been quite a few up and downs, but they are so close now and it is going to be really hard not to see each other everyday. This is going to be a rough week for Steve and Stephen as they both adjust to a new "normal".

Stephen has accepted a position with at the Lexus dealership which is an amazing opportunity. The position itself is going to be great for him and the hours are fantastic. During the week he will work 8am to 6pm and then he will work one or two Saturdays a month and he will get off at 5 on the Saturdays he has to work. This is so exciting, especially with the baby on the way! All week at 6:30 one of us will say, "next week you will be home right now!". We are both so ready!! No more 72 hour work weeks for him.

16 Weeks

I am 16 weeks or 4 months along!! I can not believe it!! This week my stomach has kind of popped and you can see a little bump. Before you could feel a hard bulge if you pushed on it, but now you can see it. However, if you don't know I am pregnant, I just look really fat :(, so it's kind of an awkward stage. But it's so fun to be able to "feel" the baby. Stephen loves to feel my stomach.

I had a doctors appointment this aftenoon that went great. I lost 4 pounds from my last appointment. it figures that the one time in my life where I can justify eating whatever I want and I have no appetite! But I suppose it is a good thing, because I really don't need to gain a lot of weight during my pregnancy.

Dr. Bruce went over my blood work from my last appointment and said my blood type is A negative. Being negative is rare so you assume the baby is positive. If my body recognizes this, it may reject the baby, so I will have to get a shot at 28 weeks and at birth to prevent this. Other than that, my bloodwork looked great. My vitamin D is low, so I have to take a vitamin D supplement and she also put me on calcium.

Then I got to hear the heartbeat. It took her a while to find it, but it was so neat to hear once she did. It was slow, around 120-130, just like last time. So I am counting on a boy!!

We go back March 15th for the big reveal!! Will Baby P be a boy or girl? I can't wait to find out!!

What I miss: Nothing really this week.
Cravings: None really. I haven't been craving anything lately.
Symptoms: Still gagging. No nausea, but sometimes I just don't feel like eating.
Best Moment this week: Having the crib delivered Saturday. I love seeing it in the room! Also shopping for baby furniture on Sunday with my family.

15 Weeks

I am 15 weeks!

Maternity Clothes: None yet, I got a belly band at Target and have been wearing it with my jeans, but mainly I wear leggings as much as possible.

Sleep: I've been sleeping good.
What I miss: Nothing really this week.
Cravings: None really. I haven't been craving anything lately.
Symptoms: Still gagging. No nausea, but sometimes I just don't feel like eating.
Best Moment this week: An ice day on Friday and spending the whole day with Stephen!

Ice Day

We anticipated this day all week. Except we anticipated 1-3 inches of snow!! And all we got was ice! They really hyped up the snow so when we woke up to nothing, I was so disappointed!

But Houston did practically shut down due to the ice. There were 100 accidents in 4 hours and most of the freeways had been closed. Beth closed our office and Steve closed the dealership so we got a day off!! Yay!!

I went out for a few minutes (it was freezing!!!!) and got these pictures. Beware, crazy ice photos to come- haha!

So as you can see it was a crazy, icy day!! Lol!!

By 11 am, Stephen was going stir crazy. I think when you are being told not to leave your house, something just makes you want to leave. So we got out and carefully drove to Cracker Barrel. We went the back way and there was no ice at all. We had a yummy breakfast!

After that, we decided to drive over to Clear Lake and see Steve and Nancy. They had the Beltway completely closed, so we drove the feeder road the whole way and there was no ice. Shelley and the boys came over and we hung out all afternoon and then went to dinner at Floyds.

Even though we were all disappointed there was no snow, we ended up having a great day!

14 Weeks

I am 14 weeks!

Sleep: I've been sleeping good.
What I miss: Nothing really this week.
Cravings: Italian. Food I used to LOVE like Mexican and any sweets just don't sound good. Actually most food doesn't sound good, but when I am hungry, I usually want Italian.
Symptoms: Still gagging. No nausea, but sometimes I just don't feel like eating.
Best Moment this week: Ordering the babies crib! I can't wait to start decorating the nursery!
