7 Weeks

We had our first doctors appointment and got to see the baby!  It was so amazing!

The baby is tiny right now, only 1 cm long.  My due date is September 26th, but we will schedule a c-section for the week before.

We loved getting to see our baby.  I wish I could get an ultrasound at every appointment.

I am going to start pregnancy updates at week 10.  It is just too early right now.

Papa and Yaya come to visit

My parents came to visit us one Saturday and we had so much fun with them.

He calls this the trains "house".

Giving us all some "juice".  Although my cup was quickly taken away and I wasn't allowed to drink all day.  Papa and Yaya offered to share with me, but that wasn't allowed either.

I also have a really cute video of Yaya and Stephen singing The Wheel on the Bus that I need to upload.

We had a great Saturday with Yaya and Papa!

How we told our parents

Since Stephen and I knew we were going to start trying to get pregnant at the beginning of the year, we had some time to think about how we would want to tell our parents when I did get pregnant.  I had seen some really cute "Big Brother" shirts and thought that would be a fun way to tell them.  So, I ordered one at the beginning of January so we would have it.  But I never expected to be using it in January!!

 photo BigBrother-4_zps3c22c97a.jpg

The shirt arrived a few days before I found out I was pregnant and even though Stephen and I had talked about it, he never knew I ordered it and didn't know I had it.

The day I found out I was pregnant, Stephen was working all day and Stephen was already in bed when he got home.  We were already planning to go over to Steve and Nancy's house the next day so I started asking Stephen what our plans were.  When he finished telling me, I held up the shirt and said, I was thinking Stephen could wear this to your Dad's house.  He looked at it and instantly knew I was pregnant!

So the next day, we went over to Steve and Nancy's house that morning.  We had the shirt on Stephen and put a jacket on over it because it was cold.  Nancy was getting ready when we got there and Stephen started to take him jacket off because he was hot.  I wanted to wait until Steve and Nancy were together, but that could have been a while, so I took Stephen's jacket off and he showed Steve his shirt. He was so happy!  Steve yelled for Nancy to come into the room, so she came and Stephen ran up to her and showed her his shirt.  It was a really fun way to tell them!

We called my parents to see if they wanted to meet us for dinner that night, so we met them at Fudruckers.  Stephen wanted to just wait and see how long it took them to notice his shirt, but that could have taken the whole meal, and I couldn't wait any longer.  So after we all hugged, Stephen showed them his shirt.  They were super excited!!

After dinner, we called Annette and Jim to see if they were home and asked if we could stop by for a minute.  At this point, Stephen was a pro at showing off his shirt and loved doing it, so he walked right in and showed Nana his shirt.  She immediately said, "I knew it!"  She was telling Jim we must be coming over to tell them I was pregnant because it was kind of odd for us to just be stopping by so late.

I was happy to have a really fun way to tell people we were pregnant this time and it was fun to involve Stephen.  He loves his Big Brother shirt!!  We text these pictures to the rest of our family and close friends to tell them we are expecting.

BIG News

We have some big news to announce:

 photo Pregnant_zps51ab1cab.jpg

That's right! I'm PREGNANT!!!!!

Stephen was fascinated with the pregnancy test and wanted to hold it so badly, so I finally let him see it.

I was trying to get him to smile, but he wouldn't.

I can't believe it! I feel so blessed to have gotten pregnant so quickly and thankful that God is giving us another baby.  We started trying at the beginning of the year and I took this test 3 weeks later.

I had a feeling I was pregnant and Saturday, Jan. 18th Stephen 3 and I were at Walmart and I decided to buy a test. I hadn't missed my period yet, but tests these days saw they can detect up to 5 days early so I though why not? I got home and took the test and it came up POSITIVE. I was so shocked and happy! I started dancing and screaming. Stephen thought I was crazy but then got excited too! We were both dancing around. It was really fun!

Stephen was at work and I didn't want to tell him over the phone, so I had to wait all day to tell him. It was killing me!! He was shocked and happy too!

I can't believe we are going to have another baby!

Things I don't want to forget

Sunday morning, Stephen let me sleep in so he got up with Stephen and they were playing in the game room.  Stephen wanted to come downstairs and get his new ball we bought the day before.  He was supposed to get the ball and go back upstairs, but he came and woke me up.  He ran to tell Daddy that he woke me up and Stephen said to him, "that wasn't nice to wake Mommy up" and Stephen responded with, "yes, nice".  Stephen said "no, not nice" to which Stephen replied "yes nice".  Too funny!

Stephen is working back in sales so his schedule has changed.  He will have to work every Saturday which is hard, but his schedule during the week is SO much better for us!  We see him a lot more and it is great!  Two days a week he goes into work late, so he waits to take Stephen to school until later so they can spend some time together.

For about a week, Stephen's favorite word was "ouch".  He would say ouch about everything.  One morning I laid him down to change his diaper and he said ouch.  I said, "what's wrong".  He then told me (by pointing a adding a few words here and there), that the couch was hurting him.  Ummmmmm, ok.  He then proceeded to scold the couch for hurting him.

Nancy and I (temporarily) traded cars because it was easier for Steve to get in my car.  Her backseat is folded down and she has bucket seats in the back so Stephen quickly realized he could crawl back to the back.  Stephen let him get out from the very back one day and that started a whole new thing.  He now loves to get in and out of her car from the very back.  When he gets in he knows how to push the button to close the door and then waves to us and says bye-bye and goes to his seat.  It's too cute!

He has also started calling Nancy Mimi.  Her name is Memaw, which he can say, but he insists it is Mimi.  And he is going to be very sad when we have to give Mimi's car back and get Mommy's car.  It's not nearly as fun!

When Stephen comes home from work, Stephen runs to the door the minute he hears it open to greet Daddy.  After he hugs Daddy he comes and finds me and tells me in the most excited voice, "Mama, Dada home!".  So I say, "Daddy's home?" as if I don't know and he replies with "YES".  It's so cute!

Washing Hands

My parents got Stephen a step stool for Christmas so we put it in our downstairs bathroom so Stephen can wash his hands.  He loves this!!!  We are working on potty training so we started washing his hands after he went potty, but now he wants to wash his hands all the time.  He is very particular about nothing being on his hands, so even while we're eating dinner and his hands get a little dirty, he wants to go wash them.

When he was washing them on this day, he had just gone potty and had taken off his pants so I just had to sneak this picture.  Such a cute little bum!!

Playing in the backyard

It was a nice afternoon, so we played in the backyard for a while.

He's never done this before, but he tried to crawl under his trampoline for some reason.  He got this far and then realized it maybe wasn't the best idea.

Riding his truck on a pretty Sunday

We've had a rough winter, but thankfully our weekends have been pretty nice.  We play outside a lot when it's pretty.  Stephen is loving his truck and gets so excited whenever it's nice enough to go outside and ride it.
