Feeding himself

Stephen now refuses to eat from a spoon.  He wants to feed himself everything!

Here was lunch today:

Zucchini that I sautéed in a tiny bit of olive oil, peas, and peaches.

Photobucket

He also had yogurt and cheese.  He LOVES yogurt and sharp cheddar cheese.  This is white cheddar.

He is really good at feeding himself, the only problem is that he stuffs it all in his mouth.  So we have to ration it out to him.

I can't believe he is already feeding himself! Please time, slow down!!!!

Stairway Gate

We wanted to get home early Monday from Palestine so we could put up the gate on our stairs.  Stephen has been climbing them for weeks now, so it was time.

Photobucket

But it didn't stop him from climbing right on up.  These next two are with my cell phone because I was standing right behind him once he climbed up on the step.

I see a lot of scratches, bruises, and maybe some broken bones in our future with this boy!

10 Months

Stephen is 10 months old today!  It seems like he grew so much this month.  He is starting to be so much more independent and seem less like a baby.  I can not believe in two months we will have a one year old!  It is crazy how fast time goes by.

* He is wearing size 9-12 month clothes, but they are getting small!

* He drinks 7 ounces of formula 4 times a day and eats 3 ounces of solids 3 times a day.

* He started holding his own bottle.

*He is doing great with his sippy cup.

* He is still a great eater when it comes to solids.   He is starting to feed himself now too.

* We are still using cloth diapers and loving it!

* He doesn't want to take a catnap in the evenings anymore, so we have been moving bedtime up to 7:30 or 7:45 if he doesn't catnap.  He is exhausted by then and ready for bed!

* He takes 2 naps for about an hour and a half to 2 hours each day.

* He loves to wave!

* He says "Dada" and "Baba".  When he has a ball he says "Baba" and he also says it when he wants his bottle.

* He is always on the move and pulling up on stuff.  He loves to just move from on thing to another pulling up on them as he goes.

* He wants to walk so bad.  He has taken a few steps to us when he is holding onto something.  He can also stand for a few seconds by himself.

* He is a super fast crawler and never army crawls anymore.

* He hates his diaper being changed or changing his clothes.  He doesn't want to stop playing!

* He is such a happy, fun baby!

We are so thankful for this baby boy every single day!  He brings so much joy to us!

Happy 10 month birthday Stephen!  We love you!

Memorial Day Weekend in Palestine

We had planned to stay home for Memorial Day.  Stephen was off Saturday and Monday so it would be a three day weekend for all of us.  Since I had been in such a funk, Stephen proposed the idea of going to Palestine for the weekend to get out of town.  So late Friday afternoon, we decided to head up to Palestine for the long weekend.  I packed like crazy and we met Stephen at the dealership and were off by 6:30!

It was a packed house this weekend with Steve, Nancy, Shelley, Taylor, Cameron, Molly (Shelley's friend, Lisa (Molly's daughter), Gary, Mary, Brook, Izabella and us!

I took a ton of pictures throughout the weekend, so get ready!

Saturday morning we all got up and had breakfast, got dressed and then set out for a long ride together.  I didn't bring my camera, but Shelley took some on her phone, so these are all from Saturday morning on Shelley's iPhone.

We stopped over on Fred's for a while.

They just put up a new rope swing that is so much fun!!  It is really big!

Stephen had a blast riding around for the first time.  He just looked at everything and took it all in.

We all went back and had lunch and naps and then set out for an afternoon of fun!

Photobucket

Stephen was still a little tired.

We put Stephen in his walker and he loved walking around seeing what everyone was up to.

He was in the back of the garage and heard Brook and Taylor pull up, so he ran to the edge of the garage waving.  It was so cute!

Then he ventured over to say hi to Sadie.

Lisa was so sweet with Stephen all weekend!

This picture cracks me up.  I put sunscreen on him, but he wouldn't sit still long enough for me to rub it in.

They are putting in an outdoor kitchen at the pool house so that is why it looks like it is under construction.

Most of the wildflowers are already gone, but there were a few patches of these left.  This bunch was right behind the pool.

After hanging out for a little while we all decided to play a game of kickball.  It was hot, but so much fun!

We were all SO hot after our game, but none of us felt like going to get our swim suits on, so we just jumped in, clothes and all!

Shelley took all of these pictures and did a great job!

Stephen already had his swim shirt on, so we just took off his shorts and got him in with us for a little bit.

Photobucket

We all swam for a little while and it felt great!  We got out, cleaned up, put Stephen to bed and then all sat on the porch while Gary cooked hamburgers.

Sunday morning we went for another morning ride.  We were all sitting around waiting for everyone to get ready and Stephen put Stephen in the seat and buckled him in.  He just sat then so still checking everything out.   It was so cute!  Of course he didn't let him ride like that.

Our family!

We stopped down by the pier pond so Cameron could fish for a little bit.

I snapped these two pictures of Lisa.  She is so pretty and such a nice, sweet girl!  We had a great time with her and Molly this weekend.

We put Stephen to sleep and then everyone hung out on the driveway for these rest of the night.  We also took a night ride in the big mule which was so fun!

We left early Monday morning to beat the traffic and get home early to prepare for the week.

We had such a great weekend!!
