No worries folks, this is a plastic knife that you cut lettuce with so it won't wilt.  There is nothing sharp on it.

If Stephen is awake, he wants my undivided attention.  Which I totally get and I do give him my undivided attention 98% of the time I am with him.  But when the kitchen is a disaster, the laundry is piling up and our house looks like a tornado came through, sometimes I just need 5 minutes to do a quick clean up to make it manageable.  If I am not sitting on the floor playing with Stephen, he wants me to be holding him.  If I even dare try and use the restroom, he has major meltdown and cries the entire time.  I try to remind myself that this time is fleeting and there will be a day when he rolls his eyes at me and wants nothing to do with me and to just enjoy this time that he wants to be held all of the time.  But sometimes, I just need a few minutes to actually accomplish something, which is hard to do while holding a 27 pound baby.  So, occasionally when Stephen is wrapping up a meal, I will give him a fun kitchen gadget to play with for a while so I can get something done.  It usually buys me about 5 minutes and then he is over it.

And here are just two randoms pictures of him eating dinner:
