2013

I love starting a New Year.  It just feels refreshing to start something new and make some changes.  I have been anti- resolution for a few years because I never keep them, but this year I decided that you should never stop trying to improve yourself.  So, I did make a few resolutions and even if I don't stick with them long, I do believe it's good to continually try and do better.

Clearly one of those resolutions was not to blog more- haha!!  It's currently January 16th and I am just getting around to posting everything we have been doing in the new year.  I haven't taken any pictures with my big camera and only have cell phone pictures.   I used to take my big camera everywhere, literally everywhere.  But, it has been sitting in my office since before the new year.  Sometimes I just need a break from it to feel inspired again.  So, I apologize about the quality and lack of pictures in this post, but I did document a few things to show you all what we have been up to lately.

This is the only picture I have from New Years Eve and I'm warning you now, it got a little crazy at our house:

Hahaha!  Oh, he is going to be so mad at me for posting that picture!   We had plans on New Years Eve to go to dinner with a bunch of friends and then go back to our friends Aaron and Janna's house and spend the rest of the night there.  Well, Janna's son had been sick so she took him to urgent care that day and found out he had strep, so they canceled.   Quite honestly, we were both a little relieved though.  As I mentioned in my previous post, I had not been feeling well and Stephen was really tired from being so busy at work. So, we decided to go to a movie and got home before 10.  Around 10:10, Stephen was alseep in the chair!  He did wake up at 11 to watch the ball drop in NY and give me a kiss and then he was off to bed.  I stayed up until midnight and then headed to bed myself!  Such an exciting New Years!  We both really needed the rest though and were so thankful to sleep in the next day since Stephen was at my parents house.

Speaking of Stephen, my parents sent us this picture of him.  He loves that hat my mom got him!

One night Stephen was having applesauce with dinner and after every bite would say, "MMMMMMMM".  It was so cute!

The Texans made the playoffs, so Stephen wanted to have all of our friends over to watch the game.  The girls all went to a baby shower for one of our other friends, so the guys were left with all the kids!  I took a few pictures when we got back from the baby shower.

Elena, Everett, Christian, and Stephen.  Everett and Christian are 2 1/2 and Stephen loved playing with them!

It was a fun night having everyone over and the Texans won!!

Stephen is obsessed with strawberries lately.  He eats them first on his plate and always wants more!  I can't wait for them to be in season so they won't be so expensive!

Sunday, Stephen put together Stephen's tricycle he got from Annette and Jim.  He loves it!

The weather has been so gloomy and cold, but we did have one day that was actually not very cold and beautiful, so we played outside after I got off work.

He threw the biggest fit when it was time to come back inside for dinner!  This boy seriously loves being outside!

This past Saturday we were eating lunch and I had the new Pottery Barn catalogs and Stephen was looking through them.  He was so funny and would really look and point to things.  His wife will thank me one day!

Then he started hiding his fork in the pages.  He would hide it and close it quickly and then look at me and put his arms up and I would say "where did it go" and he would open it and show me.   Too funny!

Sunday we celebrated Papaw's 82nd birthday at Fuddruckers.  We were in the back room and they had games in there.  Stephen convinced Uncle Aaron he needed one of these balls.

He couldn't get one though.  But he did buy him a football man out of one of the machines and Stephen loved it!

Singing Happy Birthday to Papaw.  Uncle Eddie, Aunt Nell, Kymberly and Travis all came down from Nacodgoches for the celebration!

We went back to my parents house to watch the Texans game and let Stephen nap.  He took a really long nap and then played his heart out!

Unfortunately the Texans lost to the Patriots.  They had a great season though!  I am just rejoicing that football is almost over!  Two more weeks to the Super Bowl and then no football for a few months!!  Hallelujah!

So, that's what we have been up to lately.  While it was nice to have a break from my big camera and taking pictures of everything, when writing this post, I realize how much I miss my good quality pictures and we did a few things that I didn't take pictures of.  So, I am going to get the big camera out and start taking better pictures.

I hope everyone is having a great new year!!
