We had a low key New Years Eve. Stephen and I both had to work on New Years Eve and we decided that night we would go to a movie. My parents had kept Stephen for me that day while I worked so after the movie we were going to go out to their house. We drove to Tomball and realized we didn't have much time before our movie started so we stopped at Luby's. It was empty and we were able to eat quickly and get to the movie with plenty of time left. We saw Wolf on Wall Street. It was good, but it was really long. We got out to my parents house just in time to ring in the New Year. Actually it may have been a few minutes after midnight before we realized it was 2014!
We spent the next day hanging out with my parents. That morning we watched the Rose Bowl Parade and Stephen played with his toys. This was my toy when I was little and Stephen loves playing with it.

While Stephen napped, we played a game with my parents. I forget the name, but each person gets 10 dice and you play different games rolling them. It was so much fun!

When Stephen woke up we decorated cookies. Stephen loved this as you will see!

On the way home, we stopped and got some fireworks. We just got a few little ones that popped and some sparklers. Stephen did not like the fireworks so after a few, we switched to sparklers. It took him a little while to warm up to them, but in the end he really liked them and even held one with Daddy's help.

We are excited for 2014! 2013 brought a lot challenges, but we learned a lot and in the end everything turned out ok. But a new year always feels like a fresh start and we could use a fresh start right now!
