Eating his hands

Stephen has started chewing on his fingers and the side of his hand lately. He has also been drooling a lot. I know it's a little early for teething, but I think he may be starting to.

2 months

Stephen is 2 months old today! This month actually went by a little slower to me than the first month. I have really just been in the moment with him and enjoyed every second of this last month. We are just so in love with our baby boy!

Here is what he has been up to this month:

* As of today he is 11 pounds 12 ounces and is 23 inches long

* He wears 0-3 months and 3-6 month clothes. Regardless of size, the onesies barely snap at the bottom. he is a long boy!

* He eats 3.5 ounces every 3 hours.

* He still hates to be burped. As soon as you just slightly move him from the "eating" position, he starts screaming.

* He still wears size 1 diaper

* We started a schedule this month and he does great on it! Sometimes he gets a little off, but it is easy to get him back to it.

* He goes to bed at 9:30 and usually wakes up around 2 and then again at 6. Sometimes it is 1:30 and 5:30. We started swaddling him again this month and this made all the difference with his sleep. Once we swaddle him, he will be asleep in 5 minutes. At night he can get out of the swaddle though, so we use the woombie. It zips up the front so he can't get his arms free.

* He still loves to be held and we love to hold him!

* He is liking his pacifier a little more. He sucks on it longer than he used to. But if he is really mad or hungry, forget it! he wants nothing to do with the pacifier!

*He still loves his bath! We give him a bath every night as part of his night time routine. He can be fussy and crying and as soon as he gets in the bath he is content and happy!

* He is doing great with his tummy time and still loves to play on his play mat or in the bouncer.

We went to the doctor this morning and eveRything was great! He did have to get some shots though :(

Today is Nancy's birthday, so we went over to their house to celebrate and Mary's birthday, which is on Saturday.

I don't even remember taking this picture, but I think it is hilarious! We hold his pacifier like this all the time. You only have so many hands!

Happy 2 month birthday Stephen! We love you so much!

1 week left

Well this starts m y last week home with Stephen. We have a busy week planned but I am just going to enjoy every second with him.

Monday we got up and went to the grocery store. I am really going to miss grocery shopping on Mondays. The rest of the day we just hung out at home.

This is his tired look. He fell fast asleep shortly after this.

Tuesday morning we got up and went to a store over by Nana's house. Since we were close to her, we stopped by for a while. We ended up staying a long time and didn't get home until late afternoon. Stephen was sound asleep in his car seat once we got home.

The weekend

I am lumping Friday into this weekend post since I didn't take many pictures all weekend.

We didn't do much Friday, just hung out at home. I snapped these while Stephen played. I love this outfit on him. It's getting a little tight so he will probably wear it a bunch here lately until it no longer fits.

We didn't do much Saturday. I worked around the house while Stephen napped. We have been having cooler temps lately and it has made me excited for fall so I also did a little fall decorating and burned a fall candle.

Sunday was football, of course! Stephen was rocking some more Texans gear! I went and ran errands during the game while the boys watched the Texans. Unfortunately they lost at the very end.

8 Weeks

Stephen is 8 weeks old today! My little baby is growing up!

Today he was napping and started to cry so I went up and got him and when I picked him up he laid his head on my shoulder and fell right back to sleep. I just had to pick up my camera and take a picture. These are the moments I want to remember!

Stephen was in training all day and got off early so we went over to see his Dad and Nancy. We visited for a while and then went to dinner.

Nancy doesn't like her picture taken, so I try to respect that and not take many of her. But I really want some of her and Stephen so I hope she doesn't mind!

2 weeks left

I just have two more weeks until I go back to work. I am just enjoying every second!

Monday morning we got up and went to the grocery store. It is so much nicer to go to the store on Mondays versus Sunday!

My mom bought him this onesie and shoes. Aren't they so cute!! Still al little big, but he will grow into them. I love the shoes!

Tuesday we just hung out at home. Here is his Tuesday picture:



Wednesday we went to the chiropractor. Stephen and I both got adjusted. We went at 11:30 and it totally messed up his schedule! He was exhausted when we got home!

I can't believe you are mine

Stephen,

You've had a hard time sleeping the past two nights. After we rock you and put you to sleep you wake back up crying. We let you cry for just a little bit to see if you will fall back asleep, but you don't. Last night and tonight, your daddy has held you for an hour or so until you fall asleep. Tonight, you woke up at 12:15. Exhausted, I come upstairs and pick you up. You immediately fell asleep in my arms. I rock you and as you fall into a deep sleep, this peaceful smile comes across your face. That smile makes heart melt. Even though I want to sleep so badly, I just can't seem to put you back into your crib. I want to rock you forever. I finally get up and as I go to put you in your crib I think to myself, "I can't believe you are mine.". You are so perfect and I just can't believe that you are mine! We love you so much precious boy!

A big smile!

Sunday we woke up and Stephen immediately wanted to go out to my parents house! W both missed our boy so much! But we just hung out a little at home and went out there about 1. We were so happy to see him! He was in such good hands and did really good for my parents.

When we got there, he had just eaten so it was time to play.

He took another nap while we all ate dinner. After dinner, Stephen was playing with him. Lately if you touch his chin or lip he will smile at you. We got a big smile today!

Then we celebrated Jessica's birthday! They could only get one candle to light.

Then everyone took a turn holding Stephen one last time before we had to go.

First night away

Stephen was home today! We love Saturdays when Daddy is home!

My parents kept Stephen overnight tonight for his first night away. We met them about 5 to drop him off. We knew he would be in great hands, but it was still hard to let him go! We went to dinner at Colina's and then just came home and watched a movie. We went to bed early and got a great night sleep! My mom sent us updates and Stephen did great at their house!

TGIF

Thank goodness it's Friday!! We just hung out today, nothing too exciting! Stephen loves the boppy pillow so we spent a lot of time on it today. He holds his head up so well on this pillow. He has always favored his right side and doesn't want to look to the left, but recently it has gotten much worse. Today on the boppy he would only look this one way no matter how much I tried to get him to go the other way. I am going to talk to the doctor about it at his two month appointment. Stephen isn't too worried though. I am just a worry wart!

I think he is giving me the finger in this picture. We are going to have to have a talk about that!
