Thanksgiving was extra special this year. While we didn't celebrate how we normally would have, we did have so much to be thankful for and that made it special. A few weeks before Thanksgiving, we didn't know what the day would look like, but we knew it would either be a really hard day or a very joyous day. I am so grateful it was joyous instead of mournful. While Steve was fighting his illness in the hospital, we knew that by Thanksgiving he would either be coming around or he wouldn't make it. Thankfully he turned a corner and started recovering quickly and was in a long term care facility by Thanksgiving.
Since Steve was still in the hospital, we decided to go out to eat for Thanksgiving because Nancy was always at the hospital with him and didn't have time to cook. Stephen, Stephen, and I got up that morning and went to see Steve before heading to lunch. He looked good and was in good spirits.
We met the rest of the family at the Hilton Nasa and had a great lunch! The food was great and it was nice to sit and talk to everyone. As we were leaving I asked Mike to take a picture of us.

Stephen was not happy about taking a picture with us because he wanted to be with his buddy Cameron!

He was so sad to leave Cameron. Stephen and I drove out to my parents house while the rest of the family went to the hospital to visit Steve. It was Stephen's nap time and we can only entertain him for so long in a hospital room, so we decided it would be best for us to visit that morning and then just Stephen would go back with the rest of the family.
Stephen took a great nap in the car and we got to my parents just in time for right, left, center. This is a Thanksgiving tradition for us and Stephen's first time to play.

Aunt Linette won, but somehow this little boy ended up with all the money (do you see it stashed in his pocket?).

We got to visit briefly with Aunt Linette and Uncle Lanny. It was great to see them and it was the first time Uncle Lanny has seen Stephen.
Then it was time for the Cowboys game and this happened:

What happens at Papa and Yaya's house stays at Papa and Yaya's house. Ok, maybe not, I may have texted my husband this picture to taunt him! I say it's ok to cheer on both teams!

Stephen had so much fun with his Uncle Aaron!

Planning his black Friday shopping trip.

Since Stephen had to work Friday and some on Saturday, Stephen and I stayed out at my parents house. He did come out to visit us every night though, which was nice.
Friday morning, we made play doh. We used the recipe my preschool teacher sent home many years ago.

Stephen loves to help cook or make anything so he was thrilled to help Yaya make the play doh.

Then it was time for a jam session with Papa.

That afternoon he played with the play doh some more.

Playing with Mamaw:

That night we decorated the tree.

I love these pictures of Stephen.

Yaya bought him the softest robe and he got to wear it after his bath. He wouldn't smile for a picture though.

And took off running as soon as I snapped that one.

He is so funny with this lip!! I need to do a post all with pictures of his lip. He started this pout early on as a little baby.

Saturday morning, we got up and just hung out. We were going to head home after Stephen's nap so I was packing while he napped and woke him up, so he went downstairs to cuddle with Yaya.

This is one of my favorite pictures ever!

We had such a great Thanksgiving!
I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude this year. I am so incredibly blessed!
