I'm 23 weeks along!
I am so excited to be having another boy!! Before we knew what we were having I didn't know how I would feel if it was a boy. Of course the only thing I really care about is a healthy baby, so the gender doesn't even matter. But I couldn't help but think, would I be disappointed it wasn't a girl? But I can say with 100% honesty that I am so incredibly thrilled to have another boy! I am truly so excited!
Now that we know it is a boy, I just can't wait for him to be here. I can't wait to see what he looks like and I can't wait to watch him grow up with his brother. Of course I want him to grow inside me as long as possible, but I am just so excited to have another baby!
Monday night when I was putting Stephen to bed he was sitting with me in the glider and he told the baby goodnight and I started talking about how much fun it is going to be for him to have a brother. I told him they could play ball together and ride bikes and go play soccer. After I said, and go play soccer, he said, and Mommy too! So sweet! I know there will be times that being the only girl I will feel left out, so it made so happy for him to say that. I know that I will have a special and unique bond with my boys that may not involve tea at the American Girl store, but it will be special none the less!
One other cute thing Stephen said that was cute was that he was ready for the baby to come out now. I'm pretty sure he is expecting a toddler to pop out and be ready to play with him- haha! And by the size of my belly, I don't blame him! I think we may be having a linebacker in September!
My Aunt Linette told me a story about when my Mom was born, my grandparents had been telling her how much fun she was going to have with the new baby and so when they brought my Mom home she was so disappointed that they couldn't play immediately! I think Stephen is going to feel the same way!
I am also so excited to get Stephen's baby clothes back out for this baby. Every time I pack up clothes he can't fit into any longer I get sad and I always think "I hope we have another boy so he can wear these clothes". I can't wait to put him in the little polo rompers and smocked outfits that Stephen has far grown out of.
