We drove up Thursday night after Stephen got off work. We met April and Daniel on 45 and switched cars. April and I rode together and Stephen and Daniel rode together. Adam and Jess could not come up until Friday afternoon. We wanted to go up Thursday night so we would have two full days. We got to Palestine late and pretty much just went to bed.
Friday morning we got up and had breakfast. Then we went riding.

We started a fire, that we never go to sit by because it started raining later that afternoon and night. But it was a nice fire!

I wish the wildflowers were still out, they are so pretty in the fields. But I had to settle for dandelions.

We then went shooting at the pier pond. We set cans up across the pond to shoot at.

Daniel resetting the cans up.

Finding some turtles to shoot.

April and I then laid out by the pool to work on our tan. Stephen and Daniel went on a ride on the dirt bikes. Then they came and joined us.

It started raining on us, so we hung out in the garage for a while hoping it would pass. Stephen and April played some ping pong.

After some traffic in Houston, Adam and Jess finally made it! Adam played Stephen in ping pong.

Since it was still raining on and off, we played games in the garage. We started with Pictionary man.

He was trying to get them to guess 'chicken farmer'. if you know Daniel, I am sure you can guess what he drew.

We then moved on to Catch Phrase.

We came in and all took showers and then hung out for a while talking.
We had a big breakfast Saturday morning and then we all went out riding.

We shot some more at the pier pond. We set up full cans (they were expired) this time, which was more fun when we shot them than the empty ones.

April shot this can!

We took a break for lunch and then went fishing at the pier pond.

Things went terribly wrong at this point. I was going to take Sadie back to the barn because she was so hot, so we got in the gator. She hoped up in the seat and was so cute. There were hardly any pictures of me from the entire weekend, so I yelled to Stephen to take our picture. I had left my camera on the table on the pier. Stephen went to pick it up and didn't get a firm grip on it. Do you see where this is going? Yep, into the pond. Stephen raced up to the pool house to get the net. He tried to get the camera this way, but it wasn't working. We have the warranty through Best Buy, so we needed the camera.
So he bravely decided to go in. This is HUGE for Stephen! We were all shocked that he so freely decided to go in. He didn't really care about the camera (he kept telling me he would buy me a new one), but I had taken about 250 pictures at this point that we both really wanted to save.
He changed clothes, got some rubber boots and googles and went in! When I took Sadie to the barn, I stopped at the house to grab the point and shoot camera. I just had to capture this!

After a little hyperventilating, he calmed down.

Meanwhile, Adam caught a big catfish.

It took him a while, but he finally found the camera.

My poor camera.

I cleaned it and took the memory card out. I let it dry out and it worked!! I was so happy to have all my pictures. We sent the camera in to Best Buy and are waiting to hear back.
After that event, Stephen taught Adam how to ride a dirt bike. He caught on really fast and we decided to go on a ride around the block. I rode on the back of Stephen's bike, Adam rode a bike, and Jess rode the 4 wheeler. April and Daniel decided not to come. Daniel was working on the ribs and April was laying out by the pool.
Safety first!!

When we got back, we all hung out by the pool waiting for the ribs to get done smoking.

We played some more catch phrase and then Adam and Jess decided to take a dip.

Dinner was great! We used Nick's rub recipe on the ribs and Daniel did a great job smoking them. We also had smoked chicken, baked beans and cucumber salad.

Saturday night was karaoke night! We took the karaoke machine and tv outside. We had a blast!

Stephen playing the fiddle- ha!

The guys popped big fireworks while we sang.

The gang!

Sunday morning we just hung out for a while and then cleaned up and went home.
It was such a great weekend! We are so happy everyone got to come and can't wait to do it again next year!
