And we got him a watch.

Happy Birthday Zach!

NYC- Friday

It was our last day in NYC so we got up and got ready and fully packed. Our flight was not until later than evening, so we dropped our bags off with the bell hop and hit the city for our final day.

Photobucket

This flower shop was on the corner by our hotel. I loved all the corner flower shops!

Photobucket

We took the subway down to Lexington Ave. to go to a great place for brunch.

Photobucket

Turns out they were closed, so I convinced Stephen to head down to the Lower East Side to Doughnut Planet.

Photobucket

Photobucket

It was so hard to decide, but I had a carrot cake and creme brulee.

The carrot cake was wonderful! Inside was a cream cheese frosting like filling. Yum!

Photobucket

The creme brulee was equally as good with a crunchy, sugary shell and a cream center.

We then took the subway down to the Southside Seaport. Our plan was to walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Yea, this is about as close as we got to the Brooklyn Bridge- ha! Maybe next time!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Stephen didn't eat any doughnuts, so he was hungry. We sat down at this restaurant overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge. It was perfect! The weather was so nice too. It was overcast so it kept it cool, but never rained.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We then walked down Wall Street.

Photobucket

And made our way to Battery Park.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

It was super windy at the park so we walked up to Ground Zero.

This is the fire station right across from Ground Zero.

Photobucket

They are building the Freedom Tower, which will be amazing!

We took the subway back to our hotel for the last time and picked up our bags, got a cab and headed to the hotel.

It was an exhausting trip, but so much fun!

NYC- Thursday

On our third day in NYC we started by walking to 5th Avenue to a Best Buy so I could get a new memory card. I was worried about mine crashing with all the pictures I was taking and would have been absolutely devastated if I lost them.

We saw this wall of water when we were in the taxi going to our hotel on the first day so we stopped for a picture. It's hard to tell in this picture, but it's water falling down on the wall.

Photobucket

After getting the new memory card we found a little deli to eat breakfast. When we came out we saw this view of the Chrysler Building. It was a very overcast day as you can see from the sky here.

Photobucket

We walked all the way down 5th Avenue window shopping at all of the fabulous stores.

Photobucket

We got to St. Patrick's Cathedral. They were doing some work on the outside so I just took a shot of the top.

Photobucket

I had never been inside the church so we decided to go in. I am so glad we did! It is an amazingly beautiful church!

They had these stations with candles scattered throughout. People would take a candle and put it in a holder and pray then light it.

Photobucket

Photobucket

There was so much stained glass and it was so gorgeous!

We continued window shopping down 5th Avenue.

Photobucket

We had to go into Tiffany of course! I was dying for this locket necklace on a long chain, but it was very expensive so I skipped it.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Where 5th Avenue meets Central Park, there is the Apple store and FAO Schwartz. The Apple store was packed, but we wanted to go in anyways.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We went inside FAO Schwarz. It is the ultimate toy store. It was so fun walking through out seeing all the kids just taking it in. I hope we can take our kids here one day.

We then headed into Central Park. I love Central Park. You barely have to walk into the park and are in a completely different world. You forget about all of the hustle and bustle of the city and can barley hear all the noise.

Photobucket

Stephen had to stop for a little bit to email someone for work. I was so proud of him this trip, this was the only time he did any work and it only a few minutes and for a very important customer.

Photobucket

Photobucket

This guy was hilarious! He had a boom box and was blasting music and pumping his arms while bopping around in a circle! I love all the personalities you see in NYC. People are not afraid to be themselves there!

Photobucket

We walked through the Mall.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Then made our way to Bethesda Fountain.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Some nice lady asked to take our picture! I am so glad she did!
Photobucket

We just hung out for a while listening to some street performers who were really good and people watching.

Photobucket

We wanted to find a place to just hang out and relax. We walked a little north of the Fountain, but this is all we saw.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

So we headed over to Sheep's Meadow and just hung out.

Photobucket

There were playgroups with strollers, dads with their sons throwing the football, two college age boys who had no idea how to throw a football, kids playing frisbee, couples reading, a family sharing a pizza. It was so fun just to sit and watch.

Photobucket

We then headed over to Serendipity for an early dinner and of course some frozen hot chocolate. The wait was 30 minutes so we ran over to Bloomingdales. I was so excited to find some sunglasses. I have been wanting aviators for a while now and I found the perfect pair of polarized Ray Bans!

Photobucket

Photobucket

We sat on the second floor and had this crazy chandelier above us. The restaurant is decorated so fun! I had chicken crepes and Stephen had chicken fried steak. Then we shared a frozen hot chocolate. It was soooooo good!

Photobucket

I love this processing on this picture!

Photobucket

We then went back to the hotel to clean up for a night at the Theater. We went to see Promises, Promises, which was wonderful! We had great seats on the first row of the mezzanine and the show was so good! I am really glad we saw this and Stephen really liked it too!

Photobucket

After the show we headed over to the Empire State Building.

Looking uptown.

Photobucket

Look how bright Times Square is.

Looking downtown

Photobucket

It was so cold and windy up there! But we had a great time!

Photobucket

We took the subway back to Times Square and walked around a little.

This guy was amazing!

We were exhausted by this point, so we headed back to the hotel to crash and get ready for our last day in the big apple!
