Some more pictures and a video

Here are some pictures from my phone while Stephen was out of town. I sent him a ton of pictures while he was gone so he wouldn't miss us too much!

And here is a cute video of him in the tub.

Throwing the ball

I didn't take many pictures this week since Stephen was out of town for work, but we were throwing the ball back and forth one day and I got out my big camera to take some pictures. Stephen loves to throw the ball back and forth.

Here is a play by play on how he throws the ball. These were taken at two different times the same afternoon, so that's why the background may be different in some.

When he brings it in close like this, he usually licks it. I couldn't get a picture of that though, but it is so funny.

He is actually really good at throwing it and it is usually straight, sometimes he gets distracted though and it goes behind him or way off to the side.

No worries though, he will go and get it.

Here's a random picture I thought was cute!

This doesn't illustrate my point very well, but Stephen loves to put his feet up on things. If he's laying on the ground and there is anything for him to put his feet up on, he will. The couch, the side of a chair, the side of the exersaucer, or even me. This day he came over and propped his feet up on my leg. He will just play with whatever toy he has happily for a few minutes with his feet propped up. So cute!

8 Months

Stephen is 8 months old! I can't believe how fast time goes by! I can't believe in just 4 months we will have a 1 year old!! I am treasuring each and every day with my baby boy! This month he seemed like he has grown so much. He just seems so much bigger to me and is losing some of his "baby" features.

I am still working on his 8 month pictures, but will come back and add them.

* He weighs 20 pounds

* He wears 6-9 or 6-12 month clothes. This month he has gotten longer, but thinned out a little everywhere else.

* He drinks 6 ounces of formula 5 times a day and eats 3 ounces of solids 3 times a day.

* I make all of his baby food. This month we added yogurt, which he LOVES, and apples.

*We are still using cloth diapers and loving it!

*He is a great sleeper. At night he sleeps from 8 pm until 7 am.

* He takes 2 naps for about an hour and a half to 2 hours each day plus a little catnap in the evening. He has been having a hard time napping lately though.

* He is always on the move, but also content just being still. He will find a toy and just sit and play with it for a while. And by play I mean eat! Everything goes into his mouth!

* He loves bath time!

* He wants to crawl on his knees SO bad! He will get up on his knees to go crawl somewhere and rock for a while and then just fall down and army crawl. Lately he has been stopping half way and getting back up on his knees and rocking. He will get it one day!

* He is doing better with changing his clothes. Instead of laying him on his back, we now sit him up and he will reach his arms up when you take his shirt off. It's so cute!

*He is such a happy, fun baby!

Happy 8 month birthday Stephen! We love you so much!

Dad's Birthday

Dad's birthday was Tuesday, March 27th, so we celebrated on the Sunday before. My mom was in Dallas for work so she wasn't there and we missed her terribly! We had a great time though with my dad, Aaron and Jessica.

Dad came over a little early so he could play with Stephen before he went down for his afternoon nap.

He had so much fun with Papa G!

I made Dad a German Chocolate cake, his favorite!

I won't name names, but a certain someone knew there was a party going on downstairs and didn't want to nap.

We spent the rest of the afternoon just playing with Stephen. He is our entertainment now.

He loves to crawl over between this chair and the wall and just lay there. One day he was laying over there and I started coming over to him and he started laughing and crawling away from me. It was so cute!

We brought down his rocking chair to see how he would do on it. He did pretty well, but you still have to be right there next to him. He seemed to really like it though and I know he will love it when he gets bigger!

We had a great day with my family!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Chicken Fajitas

Saturday night I made the best chicken fajitas! They were so easy, quick, and yummy! I will be making these over and over.

Melt just a little bit of butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Slice one red bell pepper, one green bell pepper and one onion and add to skillet.

Cook until tender and remove from skillet.

While the vegetables are cooking, cut up chicken breasts into slices and season with cumin, garlic powder, salt and pepper. For 2 chicken breasts I used 2 tsp of cumin and garlic powder and cracked fresh pepper and salt.

Add chicken to skillet and cook, turning occasionally, until chicken is cooked through. Add the vegetables back into the pan to warm.

Serve immediately.

We had ours with avocado, sour cream and cheese. Yummy!

I expected these to be good, but they were excellent, just as good as a restaurant!

A beautiful Saturday

The weather has been so beautiful lately so we wanted to get out and enjoy it while we can.

We have a park and a trail in the back of our neighborhood that leads you to the Brazos River, so we went back there to go for a walk. It was great, except for the mosquitos!! They were eating us up so bad! The walk there wasn't bad, but the walk back was horrible. I wanted to get more pictures, but if we stopped for just a second they would literally swam us and I didn't want Stephen to get bit so we just kept walking, fast!

Aren't these shoes adorable! My parents got them for him in NYC last year right after we found out we were pregnant. He would untie the laces as soon as I would tie them, little stinker!

We stopped at a park closer to our house on the way back so Stephen could swing for a little bit.

He didn't want to keep his hat on today.

Later that afternoon we were just hanging out in the game room and I put Stephen in his chair to take some pictures. We propped him up like this, but he just sat back and relaxed!

Too funny!

We had a great day enjoying this beautiful weather!

Getting brave in the bathtub

Stephen has a little blow up bathtub that sits in our big bathtub. He loves to throw his toys over the side of it and into the big bathtub. He then looks over the edge and tries to get them.

One thing about Stephen is that he never looks to us for help. If he wants something, he will get it. This isn't something we have tried to teach him or anything. We sit with him on the floor to play and he knows we would give him toys if we wanted. I am always sitting right at the edge of the tub and if he dropped them and looked at me, I would get them for him. But he never expects us to do that.

So back to the bathtub. For a while he would just throw his toys and look over the edge but wouldn't try and get them. I guess he knew they were too far to reach. He would just happily splash sans toys (we would get them back for him after a while, but he never fussed or looked for us too). But Friday night he just reached right over and got his own toys back. When he did this he was then on his stomach and loved being able to see over the edge and reach down.

There is a piece of material on the back on the tub with a suction cup so you can hang the tub up the dry and he loved reaching down to play with it, that's why he's looking over the back of the tub.

He is getting so big!

The waiting room

Brook could only have a few visitors at a time and Stephen couldn't go back to see her at all, so we hung out in the waiting room some. Everyone was so sweet to help me with Stephen and entertain him. While I was back with Brook, Uncle Gary made him laugh and so did Gary and Shelley's dad.

He loves hats and was so funny about Michael's. He was laughing and screaming. It was hilarious!

I think it's time for a haircut Cameron!

Cameron told Stephen he was his best buddy and helped push the stroller out to my car.
