River House and the Beach

My boss, Beth, has a river house in Matagorda and recently told all of the project managers that we can use it whenever we would like, so my friend (and fellow project manager) Ki and I went down there Saturday with Stephen.  Stephen was working and then playing poker with his buddies, so it worked out great!

We ate lunch on the patio as soon as we got there.  I brought my big camera and went to take a picture and realized I left my memory card at home- ugh!   So these are all from my cell phone, but I think they turned out pretty good.

Ki and I started working for Beth on the same day almost 9 years ago.  We became friends pretty much instantly.  She is one of my best friends and is so sweet to Stephen!   It is so sweet to see how much she loves my little boy!  I can't wait for her to have a baby so I can love on it!

It was a dreary day so we spent some time just hanging out at the house for a while.  Stephen found pick up sticks which entertained him for about an hour.  He would spread them all out over the floor and then one by one put them back in the box.

Later that afternoon we decided to go to the beach which was only about 15 minutes away.

Here is what Stephen thought about the beach:

He was mad that I took off his shoes and was a little obsessed that Ki and I weren't wearing our shoes, but he finally got over that and made our way down the beach.

Ki wanted to take his picture and told him where to stand and smile and he ran right to the spot, turned around and smiled at us.  I love this picture!

I tried a different take on processing and thought this one came out neat.

He did NOT like the water coming at us.

He is pointing at my feet asking me where my shoes are.  When we are at home and he knows we are about to leave, he will go find everyones shoes and bring them to them.

He was not happy that the water touched Ki.

Even though he wasn't a huge fan of the beach, I still think he had a god time.  I love the beach so I hope he warms up to it.

When we got back to the house the sun came out and it was the most beautiful day.  We sat on the porch and enjoyed the day.  Here is the backyard from the house:

We had such a fun day!  Thank you for going with us Ki and thank you for all of your help with Stephen and taking so many pictures of us!
