Children's Museum

I took Stephen to the Children's Museum on Saturday morning.  We are members and the first Saturday of the month, members can get in an hour earlier than the general public.  We were running a little later than I expected, but still got there around 9:45.  It opens at 10 to the general public.  Well, it turns out members get in early the SECOND Saturday of the month.  UGH!!!   At that point I was happy we were running behind so that we only had to wait 15 minutes instead of an hour.

So, I took some pictures of Stephen while we waited.





He knows that he can see his picture on the back of my camera now, so he was running over and standing by the statue and then running to me and wanting to see his picture.





We went right upstairs to the Tot Spot at 10 and were the first ones there.

He loves these cars.















Next to the cars, these doors are his next favorite thing to do.  He opens and closes the doors, turns the light on and off, and rings the doorbell.







The shade slides up and down and after he slides it down, he always looks at me like this and I say, "Where did they go?"











He found this beach ball and I know you can all imagine his excitement!  He ran over to me with it yelling "BALL!!!!"





We were there for quite a while before other people starting coming in which was very nice.   Saturdays get crazy at the Children's Museum!











I love this picture below!  That smile melts my heart!

























He was trying out the lock, but couldn't quite get it.  He understands what to do, but just isn't patient enough to get it in quite right.











There is a little room off of the main area that no one ever goes in, but the door was open today, so Stephen went it.  There was a little sink and he loved it!  He loves washing his hands.  He would have stayed there forever if I would have let him!





He also loved the little chairs in this room.  He would pull them out, sit down, get off, and push the chair back in, and continue to the next chair.













Then we went outside and he rode a tricycle around for a while.



He usually likes to stay out there for a while, but after a few minutes, he went to the door to go back inside.  I could tell he was getting tired, so I said "are you ready to go bye bye?", and he turned around waved at the toys and then tapped on the door.

We had gotten home late the night before since we were at Mary and Gary's so I knew he was tired, but he usually fights me when we leave.

I wanted to check out the water exhibit outside before we left so we went out there and it was SO neat and Stephen loved it!!  He is still a little short for it, but he still had a lot of fun!





You push those red things and they make waves to push the boats down the path.





















Next to the water exhibit was an Eco area and they had these little chicks.



It was almost 11:30, so we headed home for lunch and a nap.

Each time we go to the Children's Museum, I am amazed at how much he has grown.  The way he plays with things is so different each time.

Looking back at all of those made me so happy I take so many pictures and blog it all.  It also reminded me of the drooling days where he wore a bib all day long!  I don't miss that at all!!
