Happy 1st Fathers Day to my wonderful husband!!
As most of you who read this know, Stephen and I started dating when we were 16. Wow, that was a long time ago, we have spent almost half of our lives together! Anyways, from early on in our relationship I always thought he would be such a good dad. He was great with his niece and nephews and always having so much fun with them.
I didn't know just how great of a dad he would be though until we had our first child. Stephen was so excited for our son to be born and he was such a good dad from that moment. I had a difficult labor and a very rough recovery and Stephen was so wonderful! I don't think I changed one diaper the first week he was born! One thing I thought was so funny was when he was showing me how to make a bottle and how to test it on your wrist to see make sure it wasn't too hot! I almost laughed out loud. How did he know this? He told me he had "raised a lot of kids", which made me laugh even more. What he meant was when Zach and Madison were babies he used to babysit them a lot and that's where he learned all his baby knowledge!
Today, he is such a fun dad. When he walks in the door from work he barely takes his shoes off before he is playing with Stephen. And he can make Stephen laugh like no one else! He is so good at taking care of him too and never hesitates to do anything for him. He loves to go get him out of bed in the morning and they play on our bed while I am getting ready. They are just too sweet together.
I couldn't think of a better father for my kids to have and I know they will grow up adoring him!

And here is my Dad and his kids. I am so lucky that he is my Dad! As I get older, and now that I am a parent myself, I realize just how wonderful my parents are (I always knew they were wonderful, but you know what I mean). I am so thankful for the example they gave us of how to be good parents. I love you Dad!

Happy Fathers Day!
