Stephen was spending the weekend with Gran E and Papa G, so we decided late Friday afternoon to get away to San Antonio. A weekend away together was just what we needed!
We didn't get to leave until late on Friday because I had to pack bags for us and go meet my parents to drop off Stephen. We got into San Antonio around 11 that night and got checked in. We stayed at the Westin on the Riverwalk and is was a gorgeous hotel! They upgraded us to a small suite and the room was SO nice!!
This is a little area right when you walk in the door.

They have a little coffee maker with Starbucks coffee and tea.

When you keep walking from the door, there is this sitting area.

And a tv and dresser. To the left is the door and to the right is the closet and bathroom.

The bed which was really comfortable!

The closet.

The bathroom.

I made some "awake" tea that was great!

We slept in on Saturday and then went down for breakfast at the hotel. The hotel is right on the Riverwalk so we had a great view for breakfast.
After breakfast we set out to walk the river. It was an absolutely beautiful day!

We walked down to the RiverCenter mall and walked the mall. Then we walked a little more of the river and decided to take one of those boat rides down the river. It was a little hot and they really cram you in there. But we learned a lot and got to see the whole river.

We stopped for a drink and shared an appetizer and then headed back to the hotel to rest. We had such a nice view from our room and the windows were so nice!

We rested for a while and watched a few videos of Stephen that I had on my phone. We missed him! Then we decided to go to a movie. We went back to the RiverCenter Mall and saw "What to expect when your expecting". It was cute and funny. When it was over I was crying and told Stephen, "let's go get our baby.". The end of the movie shows them all giving birth and it just brought back memories of the day I had Stephen. One lady had to have a c section because the babies heart rate was dropping (same thing that happened to me) and she was upset and crying and saying, " No, this isn't in my birth plan.". It was exactly what I went through. But then when she was holding her baby she said, "this is my happily ever after." I knew exactly how she felt! And I just wanted to hold my baby!
Moving along... after the movie we drove to Pappasitos for dinner. We had to wait for about 45 minutes, so of course I had a margarita. It was so good!

We had a great dinner and then headed back to the Riverwalk to go to Pat O'Briens.

If you don't know what Pat O'Briens is, it is a dueling piano bar that is so much fun!! We first went with Steve and Nancy in New Orleans and had a blast and when we saw it earlier in the day, I told Stephen that is where we were going tonight!
You can give them money to write things behind the pianos.

The hurricanes are so good, but they will knock your socks off! Seriously, be careful and consider yourself warned!

You can also give them money and request a song. Here is a video of Journey.
He stopped about half way through and said, "sorry that's all $10 gets you". Later someone gave him $20 and he finished the song.
This is also the best place to people watch! You see some strange people!
We left at 1:30 when they stopped playing and headed back to the hotel. It was so much fun!
Sunday we got up and got dressed and packed and headed home.
Sometimes the daily grind of life just gets to us and it's times like this that we can escape reality for a few days and re connect that really help us and remind us how lucky we are to have each other. Even though he drives me crazy sometimes, I love this man with my whole heart! He is a wonderful husband and the love of my life!

Before Stephen was born, we would have both been sad driving back home with Monday and regular life ahead of us, but now we were both so excited to get home to our baby! We missed him so much!!
