Feeling better

Our sweet baby is feeling better and we are all so happy!

Tuesday, I started researching and found out that a lot of children with ear problems benefit greatly from chiropractic care. I personally believe greatly in chiropractic care in general and even had Stephen adjusted when he was just a month old. As I was researching this, my mom text me and told me that she thought I should try eliminating his dairy products since dairy is a huge mucous producer. I also researched some things about dairy and found that dairy is the number one cause of congestion in children.

So, Tuesday after work, I took Stephen to a chiropractor and had him adjusted. I also asked him about dairy and he said that we are the only species that continues to drink milk after we wean from our mothers. He said that clearly Stephen is healthy and growing fine and that he will be just fine without dairy products for a while to get this all cleared up.

Stephen drinks so much milk that I was concerned about eliminating it all together though, so we stopped by HEB and I got some almond milk for him to see if he would like that. That night I gave him the almond milk instead of cows milk and he loved it!

Tuesday night he slept great but the real test was going to be Wednesday at nap time. Just to remind you all, he hasn't napped in a week and a half in his own crib at this point. So, 9am on Wednesday comes around and he goes straight to sleep. Lays right down and falls asleep! I was SO happy!! And then again at 1pm, he lays right down and goes to sleep! He slept for 2 hours each nap!! I was SO happy!!!

Since then he has been napping wonderfully and sleeping all night! I don't know if it was the milk or the chiropractor or a combination of both, but it worked instantly and we are all so glad!!

When Stephen was sick, he was so clingy and cuddly and is was really sweet. Tuesday night, I was rocking him to sleep and when I got up to lay him in his crib he layed his head on my shoulder and wrapped his arms around me. He never does this and it was so sweet, so I just stood there with him swaying back and forth. Then he started rubbing my arm. My heart just melted. It was so hard to lay him in that crib, I could have just held him all night long!

Here are some pictures of him eating yogurt on Friday. Since he was doing do well, I let him have yogurt and cheese again because he loves them so much and he is doing fine with those. We are still giving him almond milk though instead of cows milk.

He LOVES feeding himself with a spoon, but as you can see it gets messy, so we really only let him do it at dinner because he gets a bath right after.
