It's one of my favorite days of the year, Superbowl Sunday. It's not my favorite for the reasons you are probably thinking though. You see, I hate the Superbowl. I don't even like the commercials. GASP! The reason this is one of my favorite days is because it means that football is officially over and I get my husband back on Sundays!
We normally host a Superbowl party at our house, but this year our friends who just had a baby wanted to have it at their house so they could put the baby to sleep at their house. It would be way too late for Stephen if we took him, so we stayed home while Stephen went to the party. This was totally fine by me! For the first time in years, I wouldn't have to watch the game or the commercials and I could catch up on the Real Housewives that have been collecting dust on the DVR.
But before I could settle in for a night of catching up on my DVR shows, I had a little boy to entertain! We went to the carwash and then I decided to take him to a new park in a new section of our neighborhood.

He wasn't too fond of the swings tonight and just wanted out.

I couldn't decide which picture I liked better. I know they are almost the same, but I couldn't decide.

He loved being able to climb up these steps by himself using the handle.

This park is great because it has bars everywhere that he could grab onto to help him climb up.

One very happy boy!

We were the only people there almost the whole time we were there and he did so good, which is why I was able to take so many pictures. Then some kids that were elementary age came and he wanted to go where they were going. You can see in some of the above pictures, but after you crawl through the tunnel there is a landing with 3 places to go. One is the slide, which is where I was standing and where he had been going down all night. The other was a ladder that you could climb up, which meant that it was a drop straight down from the landing. And the final side was a huge rock that led to a larger part of the playground and was completely unsafe for him. So, once the older kids got there, he went up to the landing and was watching them climb up the rock and I was telling him to come down the slide. He didn't want to come down because he wanted to watch the big kids and he started backing up towards the ladder where there is a drop off. He was so close to falling and I freaked out and started screaming and running over to try and catch him. Thankfully, the dad of the older kids was standing near by and he grabbed Stephen from the slide where I couldn't reach him. It scared me to death! I just knew he was going to fall!
We left right then and I decided we would only go back to any park when Daddy could come help me! It was a fun time while it lasted, but even just writing that out makes me stress out! I would never forgive myself if something had happened to him!
