Beautiful Weekend

After a cold, windy day on Friday, Saturday was supposed to be beautiful, so I declared in a complete outside day and we did spend the entire day outside.

I didn't take a ton of pictures because I was working all day in the yard, but I did take a few.

When we first went out, we played with Stephen's truck, tricycle and drew with chalk.





Then I started working in the yard.  I didn't take a before picture, this is a "during" picture.  Our flower beds looked like big humps and I wanted them to be flat and go in around the tree.  So, I tilled all of the mulch.  Then under each bush was a clump of dead leaves.  It smelled awful and I was scared I was going to find something dead under there.  But it was just rotten leaves.  I filled a huge trash bag full of leaves.  So this picture was taken after I had done all of that.




It was lunch time and we had a picnic.  My mom gave me this blanket for Easter and it is perfect!  We had the perfect spot under our tree.  It was heaven!



Stephen was thrilled that I let him have some chips.  That's a treat in our house.







Here I am in all of my sweaty glory.





We had such a good time on our picnic.  It's moments like this that make my heart so full.  On this absolutely beautiful day with my boy, I was feeling so incredibly blessed!  After sitting there for a while, Stephen laid on his stomach to eat and then he laid his head down.  



Stephen went inside to take a nap and I tackled this:



We had this crepe mertle in our flower bed and I have hated it since we moved in.   I always said I was going to take it out and decided today was the day.  It had grown quite big and was quite the undertaking.  It took me about 2 hours and several times I almost gave up and decided to wait for Stephen to help me.  But then I thought, my mom taught me I didn't need a man to do anything, I'm going to do this. And I did!  It was HARD but I did it!  I was so proud of myself!



So much better!



After Stephen woke up we went to Lowes to buy mulch and then went to Chilis for dinner.

When we got home, Stephen got his rake and was ready to work again!  He was right beside me all day working with me.  He would dig in the flower bed with me and then go ride his truck for a little while, then come back and "help" me, then go draw with chalk.  It was cute!

I added mulch around the big trees and Stephen got the garage cleaning bug so he started working on that.







I'm pretty sure he is telling me to get back to work.   This boy points and tells everyone what to do all day long.  And we listen!



Sunday morning we went and got more mulch bright and early.



I finished the flower beds and Stephen continued working in the garage.   We bought this jump house from someone in our neighborhood and blew it up for the first time for Stephen to jump in.  He hated it.  Great!   He doesn't really like his trampoline either though so I think he may just me a little young for them.  We'll see.





During his nap, Stephen and I finished cleaning out the garage.  Then we all got cleaned up and met everyone back at the Japanese steakhouse for Gary's birthday.





Stephen was so happy to see Izzy.















I got up to take some pictures and Stephen was looking for me.

This was such a great weekend!  Before losing 30 pounds I would have never done everything I did this weekend.  I worked hard in the yard and barely sat down all weekend.  It feels so good to have so much energy to do stuff like this!
