38 Weeks

I am 38 weeks today!  Only one week and 3 days left until we meet our baby boy!

This week has been full of ups and downs.

Saturday, Stephen and I went out to my parents house.  My parents wanted me to be able to rest so they took care of Stephen while I just relaxed.  They are so awesome!   Around 1, I decided to go lay down in bed and woke up around 3 with pretty painful contractions.  I started timing them and they were coming every 2 minutes and lasting for a minute.  I started changing positions and they slowed down to every 5 minutes.  After about 45 minutes of that, I decided to get up and went into the living room and told my parents what was happening.   I called the doctor but I had to leave a message for a nurse and at that time they were slowing down even more so I know they wouldn't want me to come in.

Sunday, Stephen took care of Stephen all day and even took him to our friends house to watch the Texans game.  I basically laid around the house all day long and took a nap.

Monday I woke up and just didn't feel good at all.  Despite being rested, I was just hurting and my sinuses were bothering me.

Tuesday and Wednesday were good days.  I was feeling a lot better.  Wednesday night I made tacos for dinner and even cleaned the kitchen!  I was totally wiped out and realized I did too much.  It is so frustrating to not be able to physically do the things I want to do, even just simple things like cook dinner and clean up the kitchen.

Thursday I was feeling ok.  I felt a little nauseous in the morning when I was getting ready, but overall felt ok.  Around 10:30, I was working and starting feeling weird and like I was going to faint.  My doctor told me if that happened again to just go lay down on my left side and drink some water and it would go away.  I went and laid down and drank some water and started to feel worse.  I started feeling weak and like I was going to throw up and really tired.  Then I started to have contractions.  The contractions were painful, but not regular and I was having a hard time timing them.  I called Stephen and my boss and sent everyone into a flurry!  Stephen called my mom to go get Stephen from school and my boss was convinced I was in labor and having this baby today!

The doctor said I only needed to come in if my contractions were regular and coming every 5 minutes and lasting for 1 minute.  I continued to lay down and the contractions kept coming and going but nothing regular.

My mom is so wonderful and picked Stephen up from school for me and brought him home.  Around 4, I got up and made a sandwich and was feeling better.  I was feeling a lot of pressure and some pain, but not having any more contractions.  My mom took Stephen to swim lessons and I just relaxed the rest of the night.

Friday morning I was off work and had a doctors appointment.  She decided to check my cervix since I had been having to many contractions and said I had not made any progress. I was dilated maybe a fingertip.  She said the contractions I am having aren't doing anything, which is not really surprising because the same thing happened with Stephen.

I am so ready to have this baby, but since this is probably the last time I will ever be pregnant, I am also trying to just enjoy it.
