Since Stephen was born, Stephen has usually worked Saturdays. There was a time when he was in service and had Saturdays off every now and then, but for the most part, Saturdays have been my day alone with Stephen.
I have cherished these days so much! Even though they can be long because Stephen works all day, they have been so wonderful! Since I am a working Mom, this is the day that I can take Stephen places and we have time to do fun and special things together.
Today was our last Saturday, just the two of us. While I am excited to have another little boy and spend Saturdays with both of my boys, I know that things will be different and that makes me a little sad. I know Stephen is going to be a great big brother and he is SO excited for Avery to be here!
All day, I just tried to be very present and soak in every second with Stephen.
We went to see Caliou at the movies this morning. Stephen did so good and was so still and just took it all in. We shared popcorn and he would laugh and then look over at me. I just love being his Mom!!!

We came home and he took a long nap, which this very pregnant, very tired momma appreciated! When he woke up he wanted to watch Monsters University, so we watched that and played with his magna tiles. One thing that has been really hard for me is being on the floor playing with Stephen during my third trimester. It just hurts too much and getting up off the floor is quite the struggle. But he wanted to build a road with him and so I did. We had so much fun! I can't wait to be able to get on the floor and play with him everyday!!!
We have had a "cool" front, so I decided I could probably handle the park. Stephen was so excited to go.

It seems like just yesterday he could barely climb this and now he does it with ease! I love watching him grow up, but gosh I wish time would slow down just a little!

We came home and he cuddled up with me in my chair and we watched Mickey Mouse. I just enjoyed every second cuddling with my boy!

Then it was bath time where we had more fun! I love that the simplest, silliest things make 3 year olds just laugh and laugh. I don't even remember what I was doing, but he thought it was hilarious!

It was pretty late at this point, so we didn't read books but instead I layed in his bed with him and we sang songs. First the Itsy Bitsy Spider, then Take Me Out to the Ballgame, then Barney, and we finished with You are My Sunshine. I was always dreading the day when I couldn't rock him to sleep anymore, but these days I love reading together and laying in his bed with him to sing.
It was a really special day!
Stephen,
I have cherished every one of our days together the past 3 years! I love watching you grow and become the funny and sweet boy that you are. You were the best baby and have grown into the best preschooler there is! In two days, you are going to be a big brother and I know you are so excited. You are going to be the best big brother to Avery! I know he will adore you and always look up to you. You two will have so much fun together! I love you sweet boy!
Love,
Mommy
