I've really enjoyed documenting our weekends. I used to take pictures all throughout the week and weekend, but lately our weeks are just so busy and not very exciting, but we always do fun things on the weekend.
These pictures are from two weekends ago.
Thursday afternoon, Stephen's school called and told me he had pink eye. Lovely! Thankfully our doctor just called in eye drops after I explained his symptoms and we didn't have to make a trip to the doctor.
I couldn't send him to school Friday since he was contagious so he stayed home with me while I worked. I had a doctors appointment that afternoon so I started work early and Stephen went into work late, so that definitely helped.
He played on the guest bed near me with his magna tiles and watched Caliou and other shows on the laptop.

Around 1:00, my doctor's nurse called and said she was going into an emergency c-section and had to cancel all afternoon appointments. That was nice since I had started work early that day, I got to stop early and we didn't have to go to my appointment.
Stephen needed to get some energy out since he had been cooped up inside all day. Having pink eye is hard because he feels fine, but we couldn't go anywhere because he is contagious. It would have been great to go to the pool, but that was definitely out, and it's way too hot to go to the park.
So we played out front for a little while. He did bubbles and played with his truck.

We weren't outside long and my feet started swelling bad from the heat. I was sitting in a lawn chair, but got out a folding chair to put my feet up on. Stephen saw me do this and did the same all by himself.

We came inside to cool down and he watched some of Monsters Inc.

There were some scary parts that I wasn't prepared for. He does this when he is scared. We didn't watch much more of this movie.

Then we did his Caliou puzzle a few times. He is really good at puzzles.

A change of clothes and then we went to the backyard to play some. He found this marker board in my office and wanted to bring it out.

When he was watching Caliou earlier, Caliou was having pancakes, so he said he wanted pancakes too. So we made pancakes and sausage for dinner.

Then he got a bath in Mommy's tub.

Honestly, it was a pretty exhausting day for me. Trying to work and entertain a 3 year old while 8 months pregnant is tough! But it was a fun day!
Friday night was hard. Stephen would not go to sleep. Some nights I have to go up once after I put him to bed and lay with him again or something, but Friday night he would scream and cry as soon as I left his room. Finally around 9:30, I let him come downstairs and sit with me and watch TV. Daddy got home soon after that and they played for a while and then cuddled on the couch and then he finally went to sleep around 10:30. It was so unlike him.
I knew that Saturday we HAD to get out of our house before we both went crazy and Stephen needed to get a bunch of energy out. Since we had been doing the eye drops since Thursday night, I knew he wasn't contagious anymore. I decided to take him to a bounce house place in Alvin that had open hours on the weekends. Most bounce house places are closed to the public on the weekends because they have birthday parties.
He had a blast and definitely got his energy out.

We stopped at the Frobergs farmers market on the way home. Stephen saw these green beans and immediately wanted to get them.

He loved putting them in the bag and carrying them around.

We went home and he took a nap and then we headed to the pool. He wanted to play at this park next to the pool before we went in. He misses going to the park, but it is just way to hot for me to be out at the park right now, so we never go. But since we were about to cool off at the pool, I let him play for about 20 minutes.

We went to the frog pool and he had a great time! There was hardly anyone there, so he had a blast throwing him toys down the slide and going down over and over. And I got to just sit there and relax and watch him!

Stephen has been dying to jump off the diving board and kept asking me to do it on Saturday. Normally, I would feel confident catching him, but being pregnant, I am not. So I told him we would come back to the pool on Sunday with Daddy so he could jump off the diving board.
So Sunday we headed back to the frog pool. It's the only pool in our neighborhood that will let the parents catch the kids off of the diving board. As soon as we got there, he wanted to do it. He climbed up, walked out a little bit and then got scared and wouldn't jump. He says he needs to be a little bigger. I was glad that he even tried and would have been shocked if he had actually done it!
We played for a while at the frog pool.

We picked up sandwiches for lunch, went home for naps, and then went to the grocery store that afternoon. It was a nice Sunday!
