Friday the 13th

I turned 30 on Friday, July 13th.  My parents were watching Stephen Friday night and all day Saturday, so we planned a night out with our friends.

These pictures are TERRIBLE, but I still wanted to document the night.  Although I am not quite sure why as it didn't end very well for me.  But we'll get to that.

We went to a restaurant called Straits in City Centre.   It was different, but very good and we had a great time!

Let me just clarify that I was NOT wearing a see through shirt.  It was not see through in real life and the flash is what made it look this way.

The restaurant was dark, but we gave it a try without the flash.

I have something that I need to document because I don't think this will ever happen again in my lifetime.  If you know my husband, you know how extremely picky he is and how he refuses to try new things. Although I do have to say over the past couple of weeks he has been at least trying things, such as zucchini.

So our friend Chris ordered sashimi, which is raw fish, such as tuna.  He and Stephen were talking about it and he cut Stephen a small piece.  Stephen literally ate it right off of his plate and then acted like it was nothing.  I could not believe he did that!!!

But there is more to the story.  If you know my brother, you also know how picky he is. He is the worlds pickiest eater.  He probably only eats about 10 foods.  I have very vidid childhood memories of him gagging himself and throwing up at the dinner table over eating a green bean.

So Stephen gives him a small piece of the tuna and someone tells him it is watermelon.  So he eats it.  He says it was fine and it didn't really taste like much, no big deal.  Then we told him it was raw tuna!!  Then is was a big deal!!  He didn't make much of it at the table, but I knew inside he was dying!!!   Jessica later told us that he went on a rant that night forever about how he doesn't even eat lettuce and she let him eat raw tuna!  So funny!!!

After dinner we headed over to the Burlap Barrel.  It's just a bar nearby that is nice to hang out at.



And this is where things went downhill.



I think our faces say it all.   Why are we doing this?



But we did it a few more times.  And yes that is my brother behind us, not some weird, creepy guy.   Ok, maybe he is a little weird!



I have not had more than 1 or 2 drinks in over 17 months, so my wine at dinner, vodka and soda at burlap barrel and the shots at burlap barrel were not a good decision!  I was paying for it BIG time on Saturday!

But I still had a great night!  Thanks for coming out everyone and helping me celebrate the big 3-0!!!
