Monday we were in Toulon, France.
When I woke up Sunday in Paris, I didn't feel the best, but blamed it on lack of sleep. Monday I woke up at 6 am and felt awful! My chest was burning and when I coughed it felt like needles were in my chest. I didn't bring any medicine with me and I forgot my vitamins at home. I knew there was a doctor on board so I got up and looked at when they opened. They opened at 9 am so I got back in bed and tossed and turned until about 8:45.
Thankfully we didn't have an excursion planned for today and had already planned on sleeping in and having a relaxed morning. I went to the doctor at 9 am and was told that it was $165 to see the doctor and since I didn't have a fever he probably wouldn't give me an antibiotic. The nurse told me it would be best to get off at the port, find a pharmacy and get some medicine. On the boat they didn't have any good over the counter medicine which surprised me.
I went back to our room and told Stephen all about it. He said his parents brought some antibiotics, but I felt bad taking their medicine in case they needed it. He insisted we go to their room and see what they had. We went to their room and he told them I was sick and Nancy insisted I take one of their z-packs. They had 3 so I didn't feel too bad taking one and I was SO thankful to get some medicine.
We all went to breakfast and then got ready for our day. Even though I didn't feel the best, I didn't want to stay on the boat by myself.
Mike, Shelley, Taylor, Cameron, Michael, Stephen and I were going to find a cable car at Mont Faron that Shelley told us about. Steve, Nancy, Mary and Gary decided to go the opposite direction of us and went shopping and sight seeing.
Since I wasn't feeling well today I just put on running shorts and a t shirt and didn't take my big camera with me so all of these pictures today are from Stephen's iPhone.
We didn't know how we were getting to the cable car, but got some directions after we got off the boat. We needed to take a bus to the tourism office. We found our bus stop and waited for the bus. The bus driver didn't speak any English, but Stephen and Shelley somehow figured everything out and we were good to go.
We took the bus to the tourism office only to find out they were closed from 12 until 2. It was just after 12 at this point. Perhaps we should have done a little more planning for this day!
The tourism office was right across the street from this beautiful beach so we walked over to see it. It was so beautiful!

There was a little area of restaurants so we decided to sit down.

We had a beautiful view!

The menu was in French and our waitress did not speak any English, so we all hoped we were ordering the right thing. We ended up getting exactly what we ordered. Stephen, Shelley and Cameron got ice cream, Mike got creme brulee, and I got a nutella crepe.

Then we went and walked on the beach and took some pictures.

We didn't look like tourists, did we? Hahahaha!!
One more picture of the beautiful beach!

The tourism office still wasn't open so we walked through a few shops. Michael got a really nice white linen shirt and considered a speedo, but passed.
We were back at the tourism office right at 2. We went in to talk to them and told them we were trying to get to the cable car at Mont Faron. She told us we had to take a boat, then another bus and there is no way we could do that, ride the cable car, and make it all the way back by 5 when we had to be back on the cruise ship. We were really bummed! We definitely should have researched this day a little better.
Even though we didn't get to ride the cable car, it was still a really nice day and I loved getting to see the beach and a less touristy part of France.
We headed back to the bus stop to wait for the bus back to the cruise ship.

This house was where the bus dropped us off at and we had a short walk to the cruise ship. I love the flowers on this house. We saw flowers like this all throughout France and Italy. They were so beautiful!

Back at the ship!

When we got back on the ship we rested for a while and then went to watch the Flowrider, which is a surfing simulator. While we were watching it, Michael came up and decided he would try it.

He did really good for his first time! He did it a second time and did even better!
Here is the view from our room just before dinner.

That night we had dinner at a restaurant on the ship called Chops. It is a steakhouse and you had to pay extra to go there. Here was our view for dinner:

Here we all are at dinner:

We had a great meal!
I headed to bed to get some rest and Stephen headed to the blackjack table with Michael and Taylor. This was on our bed when I got back to the room.

Overall it was a really nice day! While I still wasn't 100% and developed a bad cough, I was feeling much better than I was that morning. Thank you Steve and Nancy for giving me some medicine!
